What is the CcM-WiFi peripheral?
The CcM-WiFi peripheral is one of the smart metering CcM devices, whose purpose is to connect to the main smart meters CcM2 and CcM4 from the CcM family to provide them with wireless connectivity, allowing to maintain the RS-485 connection between the mains in Gateway mode and respecting the wired connection between the main that hosts it and the secondaries (CcM1-C).
The CcM power consumption meters family is composed of a set of devices whose objectives are the energy efficiency, submetering and/or monitoring of electrical parameters in the switchboards of single-phase and three-phase installations, preferably housed in circuit breakers or differential switches to obtain multiple measurements at multiple points and physically linked to each other by means of an RS-485 cable in a submetering design.
How does the CcM WiFi peripheral work?
The Smart energy control CcM devices offer multiple configuration possibilities, depending on the installation scenario, either for domestic or industrial environments. Thus, it is possible to have a wired, wireless or mixed installation, connecting the different devices together to create communication buses establishing configurable master-slave hierarchies.
How do I access the CcM-WiFi adapter data?
With the CcM-WiFi external device or module, the user will be able to access the data taken by the Smart meter main CcM wirelessly via WiFi, in an easy way since it connects directly to the CcM device in question via plug & play, adapting to the physical shape of the main devices and without requiring external power supply other than the one supplied by the device itself that hosts it.
Through this wireless connection (WiFi) provided by the CcM-WiFi module, it is possible to interrogate the devices through Modbus RTU commands over TCP (Gateway mode) or allow the CcM-WiFi device itself to interrogate the main device that hosts it and send the electrical measurement data to the default server (clicmonitor.com) in Cloud mode every 10 seconds, or send the data to an external server in FTP mode.
How to configure the CcM-WiFi adapter?
The best way to configure a CcM smart energy control WiFi device is through the App clicMONITOR or by accessing the internal web of the WiFi device through its address (http://192.168.4.1/).
The only other way to establish a direct communication with the network analyzers, without using this CcM-WiFi device or adapter, would be through a wired RS-485 connection, using any data acquisition program that interrogates devices using the Modbus RTU protocol over TCP; or through one of the software tools offered free of charge, such as the CcManager (configuration, display and local network hosting via a Windows or Linux PLC, or directly with the CcMaster) or the Web clicMONITOR portal.
